Dr. Pamela Davenport

Mother, Diocesan Mother and First Lady
First Lady Davenport, a native of Detroit, Michigan, was born the 6th child of eight to Michael and Annie Wade. She attended the Detroit Public Schools and in 1980 graduated 29th of 344 students. She later attended Krainz Woods Academy where she graduated and scored the highest in her class, passing the Medical Lab Technician Exam. While attending Krainz Woods Academy, she met a saved and sanctified woman named Carol Brown who introduced her to holiness. Shortly after, on February 12, 1982, attending Solomon’s Temple for the first time, she received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.
Zealous for the Lord, she began working in the vineyard of the Lord, whatever her hands found to do; she was willing to do it as unto the Lord. During the first year of her salvation, she felt the calling of the Lord to serve in the Missionary and the ABYPU Departments. Later after dating 3 years, in 1985, she was joined into Holy Matrimony to Bishop Henry Davenport. In 1988, Lady Davenport along with her husband moved to Nashville, Tennessee to begin a great work for the Lord, many souls have been saved during the 19 years she and her husband labored unconditionally. Spiritually, she has served in many capacities such International Jr. Missionary Coordinator, Tennessee State ABYPU President for 5 years, Tennessee State Ministers’ and Deacons’ Wives President for 9 years, Altar Worker, Sunday School and Newcomers’ Teacher for 17 years, Local Missionary and Minister’s and Deacon’s Wives President, Missionary for 20 years, Coordinator of Annual Women’s Retreats, and Overseer of the Women’s World at the True Way Church. Currently, she is the Vice President of the International Women’s Council COOJC, and in the summer of 2005, she was appointed “the State Mother of Tennessee.” In addition, she and her husband have conducted Annual Marriage Retreats for the past 10 years.
Educationally, she has been blessed with an Associate of Science, Bachelor of Science, Masters Degree in Special Education and Doctorate of Christian Education. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D in Christian Counseling. Moreover, she possesses many awards that she is extremely proud of including the 1st African-American to graduate in the Honor’s Program with a 4.0 GPA at Volunteer State Community College. In addition, she graduated Summa Cum Laude, receiving the Top African-American Student Award at Austin Peay State University, the Sojourner Truth Award, and she received a $9,000 Scholarship Award to attend Graduate School.
Presently, she is a Pastor’s wife and working as a school teacher at Hawkins Middle School, teaching Gifted Children. Most recently, in 2006 she was nominated and voted Teacher of the Year at Hawkins Middle School after teaching only 4 years. Finally, she counts herself blessed by God; “‘I’ve endured a Kidney Transplant in 1991 and still kicking, have a wonderful husband, and a proud mother of 27 year old daughter, LaShante.” My motto for life is, “Lord, I don’t want to be more or less, but JUST what you will have me to be.” My endeavor for life is to bless others by leaving a legacy of LOVE!
